  2. Today, you are going to write a resume. This activity is an extension of the article we read last week. You can re-read the article if you want (the link is still below).
  3. WE WILL DO THIS IN 5 MINUTES ... We will look at what needs to be on a resume and build a rubric to decide how we will choose the rest resume.
  4. YOU WILL HAVE 15 MINUTES ... to write up your bad resume.
    • You need to write your resume on you ipod .... email or DocsToGo.
  5. YOU WILL HAVE 5 MINUTES ... to compare your resume with another group and choose the 'worst' to submit to the class.AS A CLASS ... we will choose the 'worst' one.

    3. Choose two of the four personality traits that best describe you according to the test (example: Introverted) and give a brief (2-3 sentences) description of that personality trait IN YOUR OWN WORDS (no copy-pasting).
    4. Email me all of this information before the end of class.

Entry Activity

  1. For today's class, you will be preparing an acrostic poem. For the purpose of this assignment, you will have to use words that describe the qualities that you have which would help you get a career (Qualities that employers look for). I have uploaded an example below using my name.
    • HINT: If you are having difficulty finding words to go with the letters in your name, your iPod can help you. Use google to find some qualities that employers are looking for.

  2. Make sure to review the grading rubric (see below) before you decide that your work is complete. This assignment must be completed by the end of the class today.

Entry Activity

  1. You will complete your 'Personal Information Sheet' that you started last week. Keisha will pass out the 'Personal Information Sheets' -- they are in the box on the desk at the front of the class. Once you get your sheet, you can work quietly on it for 15 minutes. There are colouring pencils on my desk that you can use if you want to decorate your page.

  2. Make sure to review the grading rubric (see below) before you decide that your work is complete.

Entry Activity

Today is the first class in which you will be using your ipod touch as a learning tool for PDCP. Before we begin, it is very important that we go over some important information that I have for my class with your iPod.

  1. When you walk into to my class, you will sit quietly at your desk, take out your iPod and come check my Wikipage. The agenda for the day will always be listed on my Wiki. There will also always be an entry activity for you to complete. You MUST get to work promptly on the entry activity.

  2. When you hear me say iPods Down, you will have 5 seconds to place your iPod face DOWN on the corner of your desk until you are given permission to use it again. Failure to comply will result in the loss of your iPod for my class. You will still be responsible to complete all of the assigned work at lunch or after school.

  3. All assignment will now be assessed with a professionalism component in addition to all other expectations linked to the assignment. You can find an example of the professionalism component on the rubric below.

  4. The letter signed at the beginning of the year and Policy 311 (acceptable computer usage) must be respected at all times.

Agenda for the day

  1. Explain and clarify iPod expectations listed above (5-7 minutes).
  2. Place my Email address in your contacts list and send me an Email (write anything yo want in it).
  3. Review of the 'Youth Justice Renewal Program.' We will be looking at the ultimate goal of the program.
    • In your group, you will make a list on your iPod of 5 - 10 qualities, behaviours, attitudes or skills that an employer would be looking for.
    • You have five minutes to EMail me your list.
  4. Open my two Email Attachments
    • Open and save the Personal Information Sheet in the app Docs to Go
    • Open and save the Employability Skills Profile in iBooks.
  5. Work on your 'Personal Information Sheet' which is to be completed and handed by next Wednesday (Dec 15th). Below you will find the rubric for this assignment.
